Our hospital is home to the Wessex Renal and Transplant Unit and holds prestigious Cancer Beacon status for our Head and Neck Cancer services.

We host the largest Ministry of Defence Hospital Unit (MDHU) in England.

The Trust is a major provider of both under-graduate and post-graduate education, working with three universities in our area.

Our maternity department is the busiest on the South Coast, delivering over 6,000 babies per year.

Portsmouth Hospitals Charity was originally set up as a registered charity in July 1995 (charity number 1047986); it's purpose being to raise funds for Portsmouth Hospital's wards and departments.

We have 23 NHS Special Purpose Charities linked to the charity including the General Purpose Fund and the Rocky Appeal. The rest of the 21 speciality funds are then sub-divided into internal departmental/ ward funds, raising money for the individual areas of the Trust.

Portsmouth Hospitals Charity raises approximately 1 million a year. These donations go towards vital pieces of equipment within Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.
